SENCO (Primary) | July 2024 to July 2025

Location: Slough

Full-time – 5 Days/Week – Salary based on experience

Teach Plus are currently working with an ‘Outstanding’ primary school located in Slough who are seeking a SENCO to start in July 2024 for a fixed term contract for 1 year.

The school is a 2-form entry, over subscribed primary school that strives to provide an exceptional education and encourage a passion for lifelong learning.

The role would be overseeing approximately 10 pupils with EHCP plans and around 20 pupils with IEPs, the role may also require part-time class teaching (up to two days per week), this is to be confirmed.

 

As a SENCO you will be expected to:

  • Identify students with additional needs as early as possible
  • Implement a school-based plan for children identified at SEN Support and review termly with a view to apply for an EHCP if needed
  • Provide students with the provision outlined in their EHCP or Statement of SEN, and that these are reviewed annually
  • Be responsible for SEND administration, liaise with external agencies where required
  • Lead on Inclusion
  • Identify the training needs of staff and coordinate relevant INSET and CPD

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • National SENCo award
  • Previous teaching experience with a clear history of SEND
  • Experience as a SENCO is desired, however, not essential
  • Experience in raising or the desire to raise attainment in a challenging classroom environment
  • Proven experience working or the desire to work successfully with students of all abilities
