About the role/school
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Qualified Nursery Practitioner to join a highly regarded early years setting in Surrey. This Qualified Nursery Practitioner role offers the opportunity to work within a supportive, inclusive, and well-structured maintained nursery school where children’s learning and wellbeing are central to everything.
This maintained nursery school provides a play-based early years curriculum for children aged 2 to 5, with a strong focus on communication, independence, and exploration. Entry is available from age two, with funded places offered for eligible families.
The setting is inclusive and well supported, including provision for children with additional needs. Staff are experienced, well-qualified, and benefit from strong leadership and positive morale, contributing to a stable and committed team. Job Responsibilities
As a Qualified Nursery Practitioner, you will be responsible for:
- Delivering a high-quality, play-based curriculum in line with the EYFS framework
- Supporting children’s communication, independence, and exploration
- Acting as a key person for a group of children as a Qualified Nursery Practitioner
- Observing, assessing, and recording children’s progress accurately
- Supporting children with additional needs in an inclusive environment
- Working collaboratively with a committed and experienced team
- Building positive relationships with parents and carers
- Ensuring a safe, stimulating, and nurturing learning environment
A successful Qualified Nursery Practitioner will contribute to maintaining the setting’s strong reputation for care and education.
Qualifications/Experience
- Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above)
- Experience working in an early years setting as a Qualified Nursery Practitioner
- Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
- Right to work in the UK
